14th International Summer School

The East Finland Graduate School in Computer Science and Engineering (ECSE) announces the 14th International Summer School in Novel Computing. This year the courses will be held at Lappeenranta University of Technology. The offered graduate-level courses are as follows:

The courses are held in parallel, thus, it is possible to participate to a single course only. Both courses contain 24 hours of lectures and practice sessions. Participants to all sessions will be given a certificate, and Finnish students are entitled to receive 1 credit unit for their studies. (Possibility to do additional homework can be discussed with the lecturer when the courses start.)
The program can be seen in the figure below. Blue colour in the program corresponds Matas's course and the green colour corresponds Päivärinta's course.
Prior the program, a welcome coffee will be available in 6th. August at 8.30 in front of the lecture rooms (i.e. 1303 and 1304).
The courses are intended for M.Sc. and Ph.D. students. There is no participation fee for ECSE students. Students from other graduate schools, or post-docs from other universities will be charged 100 Euros in cash because of the course material, social events, and other practical arrangements. Participation fee for representatives from the industry is 200 Euros in cash. Due to our limited resources, the organizers reserve the right to limit the number of participants to the courses.
All participants must register to the summer school by filling up the registration form by July 15, 2007.
After Full-service registration has been closed, it is possible to register to the courses by July 30, 2007 if no additional services are required.
Registration has to be completed by July 15, 2007. You can also directly register to the ECSE Secretary. Registration will be closed on July 30, 2007.
Lappeenranta University of Technology is located in Skinnarila, in the western part of Lappeenranta. Buses can be used for public transportation from the center to the university. From the railway station, either the bus, or a taxi can be taken to go to the university. From the airport, it is the easiest to take a taxi. All participants are responsible for their travelling expenses.
Accommodation can be reserved from Lappeenranta Area Hotels or hostels. The accommodation will be paid for ECSE students only. Other participants are responsible for their accommodation expenses, and other possibilities can be found from the pages of Lappeenranta Business and Tourism Services.
Breakfast is served at the hotel, and lunch can be eaten at the university cafe. For dinner, there are several restaurants in the center of the city (see Lappeenranta Business and Tourism Services). Participants are responsible for the expenses of their meals excluding the ones served in the social events.
