Introduction
The research of Harmonic Analysis in Signal and Image Processing Research Group focuses on methods and theory of harmonic analysis. The requirements from signal and image processing are the main motivations which continuously produce new problems for the research.

The main interest of this research group has been set to Fourier transform, wavelets, and frames. Currently the main focus is on multi-resolution analysis (MRA) methods. The research is conducted in collaboration between two laboratories, Information Processing and Applied mathematics.

Projects
Activities of this research group can be explored most easily by browsing web pages of past and current projects. Some larger research projects have generated sub-projects which support the main goals of the project, e.g., Gabor features in signal and image processing is one of the main activities of this research group.

The following projects are related to the theory of harmonic analysis in signal and image processing:

  1. GABOR - Gabor Features in Signal and Image Processing
  2. SHIFTABILITY - Shiftability of Frames

The results of the research group have been applied in the following projects:

  1. EVEX - Object Evidence Extraction
  2. FACEDETECT - Face Detection
  3. SIGDIG - Signal Discrimination for System Diagnosis
Publications
This project has produced a significant number of scientific articles and monographs. For a more compherensive list of publications see the web pages of sub-projects.
