The International Summer School on Telecommunications held in Lappeenranta is the oldest summer school in Finland in the area of Information Technology. This year the summer school is already 17th event arranged in Lappeenranta. The form, length as well as sponsors has changed along the years. This year the summer school is arranged under the MiNEMA - Middleware for Network Eccentric and Mobile Applications project funded by ESF - European Science Foundation.

The 17th International Summer School on Telecommunications includes two tutorial days on tuesday and wednesday, a scientific workshop with selected scientific papers on Thursday and a Code Camp from Thursday afternoon until Friday.

The Summer School Tutorial Days are aimed at participants interested in Security, privacy and trust issues in mobile and wireless communications.The workshop day includes lectures and paper presentations concerning the research areas focused in MiNEMA. Presentations in summer school events proceed from beginners level to an advanced level. The event is ended by a code camp where students have the possibility to work together on the topics presented in summer school.
