 +The major idea of any movement is to encourage people to do or not to do certain things. The encouragement can have different basis: financial motivation, social influence, legal restrictions,​ etc. In my opinion, the best way to do that is to bond people together socially within this movement. It means that the more people communicate and share information,​ their knowledge and experience in this particular movement, the more they become sure that they are not alone in their way of thinking and doing towards more sustainable style of living.

 +For example, in my country there was a movement of gathering people from the same block of flats, school or work place and to clean the place of their shared usage. For instance, owners of the flats in one house cleaned together the yard, sometimes decorated it and planted flowers and trees. That is just an example, but it somehow bonded people for the same goal, so they collaborated with each other.

 +Maybe, it can be possible to gather people for promoting more sustainable way of living. For instance, every month there might be an "​Sustainability movement"​ event in each small district of the city (or even just in each block of flats), where people can sell and buy some stuff that they don't need or don't use anymore (clothes, toys, cutlery, furniture, etc.), promote sustainable way of living. As the event is going to take place not only in one place for the whole city, there will be no need for people to go somewhere by car and produce carbon dioxide. Also, this event can include some sort of entertainment,​ so more people will be attracted to this. In this way of organizing people'​s communication (like a fair) used things won't be just disposed, but might be reused for different purposes. And also people will learn from each other how to be "​sustainable"​.

 +I decided to use the data from The Green City Index report. It includes several indicators for the analysis of different aspects of cities nowadays such as Energy consumption,​ air quality, buildings and transportation system, etc. Each indicator is in the range of [1,10]. As Copenhagen was announced "The Greenest City of 2009", its indicator values (blue line in chart) are compared to the maximum values obtained in Europe (red line) for a particular indicator. The names of these cities are mentioned in brackets near the indicators. ​ These maximum values can be used as a goal definition for the future development.
